INTERNET SAFETY

An important aspect of internet safety is clearing out your browser history.  You can find some instructions for doing so below, and keep an eye open as we add more ideas to maintain internet safety here.

Clearing Your Browser's Cache

If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer: On the top "taskbar" (the bar that starts with "Files      Edit       View ...") click "Tools" (usually next to "Favorites") and click "Internet Options" (usually the option farthest down). In the new window it brings up, you should be on the first page (or tab) labelled "General." Right about in the middle are two options: "Delete Cookies..." and "Delete Files...", and towards the bottom there is another option called "Clear History". Go through one at a time and click on each of these options, clicking "Okay" or "Yes" if it asks "Are you sure you want to ... ?" When you click "Delete Files..." there will be also be a checkbox for "Delete all offline content", which you can check in order to thoroughly remove any websites or other internet materials off your computer. After this is done all downloaded internet data and records of what sites you have visited should be gone. This does not affect "Favorites" lists.
